Live a life to leave a legend..... (Nyamambia i got this quote from you!)

All in a name; the power of words
My eyes did not see, but my ear heard of the legend
Thousand hearts touched, Scores of tears dried, wholesome lyrics composed and humility at its highest

Sounds like what I want to be… This and more!

My eyes did not see, but my ear heard of the legend
The bravest of lionesses, her poise spoke of authority, the voice confirmed cognizability, royal paths trod and leadership at its peak
Sounds like what I want to be… This and more!

Life blinded but my heart was touched still;
Touched by my legendary names!

Dusk welcomes the thought… A chain of questions, a cocktail of emotion,

It’s then that the smile reveals its true identity: its paleness sharply cutting through the darkness; boldly outlining wrinkles that kept it there, its silhouette… no longer a deception
Perhaps a cue to finally give in
Maybe to hold on tighter
Emotions…
They clam up, numb the vocals and mute the inner voice
Despite this, the outbursts within grow louder
A mimicry of the same thought;
A dream of a niche… a haven of comfort;
The yearn for a smile… joy.

It’s the mind’s soliloquy that threatens to burst the skull
Just then I reckon…
A lone star gliding in the sky waits for day;
A free dandelion floating in the air, hopes for a destination;
A particle of dust swept by a wave of wind hangs on to fate…
And an infant;
A little babe who cries to sleep continues to weep in her dreams
Faith is what this belle lives by,
Faith; difficult to cling on equally impossible to let go of.

On the eve of my retirement

(December 2009)

Today I shed a tear…Actually they were two,
It was all too much to bear!
First it was from despair,
for I thought my role had slipped, was crushed and graved.

But just that second;
There, on the nave’s last pew, was a rubber-stamp, custom made.
I left a mark…
That was when the other tear followed
The little heart was changed
This blessing; this burden, has taught me great lessons on trust!

As I pass the baton, I need no pension for I know retirement is only formal, but deep in my heart… my work just began

a rose by any other name......

Theres a tale I love to tell;
Of the belle exceptionally gorgeous
Raindrop or dew against her velvet petals sparkled like a diamond when illuminated by an honored ray of sun.
The breeze daily brushed against her side, just to sneak a light sniff of her sweet, priceless scent.
Her beauty hushed all gloom but doom struck as her petals began to fall, each, with the same grace it hang with, dried and crushed into a thousand beautiful pieces

Belle soon shared the same fate as her petals but her stem stood strong.
A rose by any other name
A rose though withered
Is still glamorous
                               Most importantly
Its still a ROSE
